I am Barry Welsh amd I am the Democratic Candidate for United States Congress in Indiana's 6th District. I am also a long time member of the Netroots Nation.
A quick update from the campaign:
We held the Indiana State Democratic Party Convention this past weeekend.
There are reports at most of the great Indiana blogs, including, but not limited too; Blue Indiana which I highlight and link because that page links other fine Indiana blogs and reports.
I am Barry Welsh and I am running for US Congress against Mike Pence in Indiana's 6th District.
On Thursday September 27th, our Campaign, Barry Welsh for Congress is hosting an Awareness Raiser/Fundraiser in Indianapolis. We are calling the event Green Night
I am running against Mike Pence. The link is to his speech to the Republican Caucus before the vote for House Minority Leader. How could he have lost?
We are going to be running for the seat in Indiana's 6th District. Why should you care?
Five reasons below.
Today at noon, citizens of Indiana's 6th Congressional District, who are also MoveOn members, gathered in front of the Anderson, Indiana office of Congressman Mike Pence.
There were groups all around the country doing similar protests at their local Congressperson's office.
I was at today's 6th District protest, I am the Democratic Candidate for this seat and the rest is below
Here is a link to a flickr page with pics from the event.
I'm running for Congress for the second time. I made the formal announcement at Yearly Kos in Chicago. Video of the announcement will be up soon. A rough transcript is at the bottom of this piece. A complete Digital Roll Out is on the way.
I also want to talk about BlueDog Democrats and will do that below as well.
I have to say Thank You to several people. You are probably one of them.
My name is Barry Welsh. I was the 2006 Democratic Candidate for Congress in Indiana's 6th District opposing Congressman Mike "Baghdad" Pence. I will be the 2008
Candidate as well, and will be formally announcing next week at a gathering in Chicago, called Yearly Kos.
One of my pet issues has always been election integrity. Here in Indiana, there have been just too many problems and we are not alone in those problems.
Hopefully some accountability is coming.

Here is a promo for this week's show.
The show airs live at Noon EST every Sunday with podcasts available.

I am in favor of registering firearms. I am a gun owner myself.
I believe that there are people that should not have guns or gun permits, like 10 month old babies, but I am not in charge of that and so we get....
